Profile: Short CV & Select Publications

Short CV:

Sophia Paulini is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Kolleg-Forschungsgruppe ‘The International Rule of Law – Rise or Decline?’. Previously, she was a PhD Researcher and Lecturer at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. In December 2022, Sophia defended her PhD thesis, in which she analysed how the precautionary principle is reflected in the new generation trade agreements of the EU. Sophia holds an LL.B in English and European Law from Queen Mary University of London and an LL.M in International Economic Law from Maastricht University.
Sophia’s research covers the interfaces between international trade and sustainability as well as risk regulation. As part of her research on the EU’s trade policy, Sophia has extensively collaborated with civil society and has been invited to present her research at the European Parliament.
