Short CV:

Heike Krieger is Professor of Public Law and International Law at Freie Universität Berlin and Max Planck Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg. She has, inter alia, taught at the Universities of Göttingen, Nottingham,and the Centre for Transnational Legal Studies, London. She is member of the Wissenschaftsrat (German Council of Science and Humanities) which advises the Federal Government and the governments of the German Länder (Federal States) on the development of science, research and higher education. Between 2007 and 2014 she acted as Judge at the Constitutional Court of the State of Berlin. She also acts as an advisor to the German government on issues of public international law.

Heike Krieger is Co-Editor of the Yearbook of International Humanitarian Law (T.M.C. Asser Press and Springer) and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Conflict and Security Law. Her recent publications include the edited volumes “The International Rule of Law: Rise or Decline? Approaching current foundational challenges” (Oxford University Press; ed. together with G. Nolte and A. Zimmermann, forthcoming),“The Legal Pluriverse Surrounding Multinational Military Operations” (Oxford University Press; ed. together with R. Geiß, forthcoming) and “Inducing Compliance with International Humanitarian Law: Lessons from the African Great Lakes Region” (Cambridge University Press, 2015, 576pp.).
