The German Research Foundation funds the Berlin Potsdam Research Group on ‘The International Rule of Law – Rise or Decline?’ for another four years

The Research Group, which took up its work in 2015 and is supported by Freie Universität, Humboldt Universität and Universität Potsdam, examines the role of international law in a changing global order. In the second funding period, the group will focus on which type of international law we may see emerging.

Short CV:

Andreas Buser is a research and teaching assistant at the chair for international law and German public law, Prof. Dr. Heike Krieger at Freie Universität Berlin. He teaches undergraduate courses in international law and administrative law. In his earlier studies of law at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and Freie Universität Berlin Andreas Buser specialised in public international and European Union law. In his PhD thesis he focused on the impact of emerging powers on international trade and investment law. His research interests more broadly include theories of global justice and international law, human rights and constitutional rights, international economic law, law & development and Third World Approaches to International Law. Beginning in February 2019 Andreas will be a Rechtsreferendar (legal trainee) at the Kammergericht (higher regional court) Berlin.
