Short CV:

Hansong Li is a political theorist and historian of international legal thought, currently a member of the Berlin Potsdam Kolleg-Forschungsgruppe “The International Rule of Law - Rise or Decline?" based at the Freie Universität Berlin. He has published academic articles and books on the concepts of time and space in political debates, historical shapes and global connections of political economies, as well as comparative theories of justice in different philological and philosophical worlds. During his time in Berlin, he is revising his book manuscript entitled, Common Justice: Interpolitical Thought in Western, Indian, and Chinese Traditions, which reexamines the normative foundations of justice across territorial and cultural borders.

Li received his BA from the University of Chicago, MPhil from Cambridge University, and PhD from Harvard University, where he taught courses on meritocracy, political economy, and entrepreneurship in developing countries. He has conducted research at the Joint Centre for History and Economics, the Minda de Gunzburg Centre for European Studies, the Mittal Institute for South Asia, and the Weatherhead Centre for International Affairs. Currently, he is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Global Intellectual History of East China Normal University, a Visiting Professor at the Nanjing Normal University, and the coordinator of the international and intercollegiate Association for Global Political Thought.
