Short CV:

Lucia Leontiev is a post-doctoral fellow in the Berlin Potsdam Research Group ‘International Rule of Law-Rise or Decline?’. Her research interests fall within the broader scope of international law, with a special focus on the law of statehood, jurisdiction, human rights, the interaction between national and international legal orders, as well as the interaction between public and private international law. She also extensively works on various issues related to non-state actors and post-Soviet space.

Lucia received her Ph.D. in International Law from the University of Maastricht and Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa (joint doctoral degree) with a dissertation that addressed the jurisdiction of territorial non-state entities in international law. She also holds a Master’s of Arts in Theory and Practice of Human Rights from the Pierre Mendès University-Grenoble 2 and the Catholic University of Lyon (France) and a Master’s Degree in International Law from the State University of Moldova. She worked as a legal adviser for the Ministry of Justice of Moldova and has held visiting teaching positions at the Charles de Gaulle University-Lille 3 (France), the University of Maastricht (The Netherlands) and the Institute of International Relations of Moldova.
