Short CV:

Dr. Benedict Coleridge is a postdoctoral fellow in the Berlin Potsdam Research Group ‘International Rule of Law Rise or Decline?’, who works at the intersection of legal and political theory and international relations. His current research investigates the ideological underpinnings of legal and normative formalism, the normative appeal of legal pluralism, as well as arguments for the “constitutionalisation” of international law.

Benedict received his DPhil in Political Theory from the University of Oxford in September 2020 with a dissertation that addressed the role in contemporary democratic and legal theory of formalism as a device for normative integration amidst value pluralism. He also holds an MPhil in Political Theory from the University of Oxford and a Master of Studies in Law from Yale Law School.
