Short CV:

Shirley Scott is Professor of International Law and International Relations and Head of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of New South Wales, Canberra. Professor Scott is President of the Asian Society of International Law and chair of the organising committee for the Eighth Biennial Conference of the Society, to be held in Canberra in 2021. Professor Scott has published 10 books, including a leading textbook on the politics of international law: International Law in World Politics (Lynne Rienner, 3rd ed. 2017), International Law, United States Power. The US Quest for Legal Security (CUP 2012), and with co-editor Charlotte Ku, Climate Change and the UN Security Council (Edward Elgar, 2018). Professor Scott has published over 50 articles in leading journals of both International Law and International Relations and is a former Chair of the International Law Section of the International Studies Association.
