Professor Jean d’Aspremont
University of Manchester
on Monday, 6 February on the topic
"International Law as a Belief System"
Jean d'Aspremont is Professor of Public International Law at the University of Manchester, where he founded the Manchester International Law Centre (MILC). He also is Professor of International Legal Theory at the University of Amsterdam. He has acted as counsel in proceedings before the International Court of Justice. Professor d'Aspremont has published widely in the field of international law. His areas of research include, in particular, questions pertaining to Statehood, Sources of International Law, State Responsibility, the Law of International Organizations, International Dispute Settlement, International Humanitarian Law, and International Legal Theory.
The lecture will take place on Monday, 6 February 2017, at 6.15 pm at the lecture hall 213, Law Faculty of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Unter den Linden 9, "Altes Palais", second floor on the right-hand side).
